Digital marketing is classified into various components such as search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing, email marketing, but before we go deeper into all these components, you should know the basics of digital marketing because you are new in the field.
1. Website Design
The first step for digital marketing is a website. Website is your business profile. There should be a website for online presence; the structure, design and theme of the website affect your target audience; More and more people are connected to your website.
The website should have a clean and understandable structure to make visitors easier to navigate. Your brand or business is represented by a website. Therefore, if you do not have any website yet, start building without any delay.
It is easy to create websites on WordPress or any other CMS platform.
2. Search Engine Optimization (Seo)
Now, when you have made your website, it’s time to move forward with your marketing strategy.
According to research: 81% shopkeepers search on Google whenever they really want to buy a product or service. Therefore, in order to be found in millions of search results, your website should be optimized for search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc.
Website Optimization to increase your visibility in SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) which we call SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
SEO will not end here, I will cover it in more detail in the next article. Here, in this article, I am giving you an overview of all the components of digital marketing for those who are new in this field.
3. Social Media Optimization
This is the most fun work done by those people who like to spend time on social media platforms. If you are one of them, optimizing and managing your business on social media can be your career choice.
Now, what does SMO (Social Media Optimization) means?
I think you know better what is social media. But still, there is a great way to promote social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pintrest, Snapchat, and many other businesses, services and products.
But, one thing that you should keep in mind – that is not to sell goods on social media platforms, they only educate and recognize people about your brand or product. You will find unique and potential customers on social media platforms.
4. Pay-Per-Click Advertising
In SERPs, you may have seen ads on the first page of Google right above the organic search results. Advertisements are paid to those advertisements, meaning that you have to pay Google to display your ad on the first page with the exact keyword.
As the name suggests, you have to pay for every click made by visitors. You can manage your ads through Google AdWords. It’s really that simple.
This is not rocket science, the more you bid for an ad, the higher your position in SERPs will be higher and will be replaced by other ads. You can manage Facebook ads only through AdWords. According to research, 63.4% of online shoppers are converted through PPC ads only.
5. Email Marketing – Lead Generation
You might be wondering why I have mentioned email marketing as an important aspect of digital marketing. Do not believe me, but trust me. Email marketing works even today.
In fact, 80% of B2B and B2C businesses use email marketing to keep in touch with their customers and potential customers. You can add a membership button to your website and collect email from your website visitors. Every time you post something new on your website, send them an email.
Emails are a great way to attract your target audience. More engagement, more trust will build between your customers and they will become your returning customers. But, make sure you do not exceed email marketing because it can negatively impact your brand image.
According to a study, 78% of people just unsubscribed their email due to “sending too many emails”. Sending tons of email will disappoint your audience only and in the end, you will lose your customers
6. Content Marketing
Whenever we talk about digital marketing, content is king. You can take anything for the given content.
The content can be in the form of blogs, articles, newsletters, infographics, PDFs, videos, webinars, podcasts, etc.
Content plays an important role in positioning you in search results, attracting visitors to your website, creating awareness and understanding what your business is all about. It should not be copied from any other websites because it is not legally acceptable to use copyrighted material.
So, make sure you write quality and relevant content about your business.
7. Web Analysis
Now, when you have done everything from your end, it is time to see how productive your efforts are. Through Google Analytics, you can measure your performance by analyzing the traffic, traffic sources, channels, and channels of your website.
You can analyze everything about your website or the campaigns you are running. If your efforts do not give you the desired results, by analyzing the analysis report, you can change your marketing strategy and reach your ROI goals. The Facebook Insight page also tells you about the performance of your marketing efforts on social media.
